Conformance status

WCAG 2.2 Level AA

Conforms for the audited scope

The required target of this evaluation was Level AA. Every applicable Level A and AA criterion was assessed as Meets or Not applicable. This conclusion does not mean that the site is “100% accessible”, free from every possible barrier, or conformant with Level AAA.

Scope

Audited scope

The AIEDI website was evaluated in an independent installation created from the six final Phase 2B ZIP packages: the AIEDI Nexo theme, AIEDI Core, AIEDI Accessibility, AIEDI Certificates, AIEDI Historical Content and AIEDI Verifier. The inventory contains 70 rendered URLs: 35 in Spanish and 35 in English. These figures represent rendered URLs and object types, not necessarily unique editorial pages.

Approach

Methodology and coverage

The evaluation combined automated auditing, manual and semi-automated review, static analysis, DOM and CDP accessibility-tree inspection, real keyboard and focus navigation, responsive behaviour and reflow at 320 CSS pixels, a 200% zoom equivalent, Text Spacing, text and non-text contrast, Use of Color, Target Size, Pointer Cancellation, Images of Text, Spanish and English, forms, reduced motion, orientation and dynamic states.

  • 1.4.6 Contrast (Enhanced): enhanced contrast is not reached in every case.
  • 2.4.13 Focus Appearance: the publication-search focus indicator changes by approximately 1.55:1, below the evaluated AAA requirement of 3:1.
  • 2.5.5 Target Size (Enhanced): independent email and telephone links in the footer are smaller than 44 CSS pixels.

Separate review

AIEDI administration

AIEDI-specific administration interfaces were also reviewed, but they are not part of the public conformance scope. No confirmed A/AA failures attributable to AIEDI remain: Core names, Certificates labels and kicker contrast are corrected. The nested administration banner remains a non-normative best-practice observation.

Non-normative

Observations and best practices

  • Nested complementary landmarks.
  • landmark-unique.
  • Nested administration banner.
  • Seventeen aria-prohibited-attr observations were manually reviewed: an ARIA authoring error exists, but no WCAG 4.1.2 failure was confirmed.

These observations are not counted as failures of WCAG 2.2 Level A or AA conformance criteria within the evaluated scope.

Boundaries

Limitations

The audit represents the state and content of the evaluated independent installation. Later changes, external content or services, and assistive-technology combinations outside the sample may require further testing. Six AAA criteria require additional manual review, and AAA criterion 2.2.3 was not verifiable because it depends on the expiry policy of an external service for one-time verification codes (OTP).
