AIEDI was created to advance accessibility, participation and social transformation through knowledge and collaborative action.
Our history

AIEDI is founded
On 15 September, Italo Álvarez, Brando Alcalá and students from different disciplines at PUCP, with the support of Professor Fernando del Mastro Puccio, founded AIEDI as an interdisciplinary space dedicated to disability and inclusion.

AIEDI is formally established
On 24 September, after carrying out its first academic activities, AIEDI was formally established through a public deed and registration with SUNARP as the Interdisciplinary Association of Students and Graduates on Disability and Inclusion.

National expansion
AIEDI opened participation to students and graduates from universities throughout Peru, expanding its interdisciplinary community and institutional reach.

From knowledge to action
AIEDI began collaborating on national and international projects with universities, public institutions and specialised organisations. During this period, it also strengthened its social responsibility initiatives and took part in accessibility-related actions connected with the Lima 2019 Pan American and Parapan American Games.

Digital transformation
The pandemic accelerated the shift of AIEDI activities to virtual environments and the reorganisation of its internal processes through agile methodologies and management criteria focused on continuous improvement.

Consulting and internationalisation
AIEDI expanded its work into specialised consulting on workplace and educational inclusion and began participating in international initiatives and spaces linked to disability, rights and inclusion.

Research and accessibility
AIEDI is consolidating a new stage focused on academic research, digital accessibility and knowledge transfer. The association promotes publications, projects and training activities on disability in Latin America and Europe.
